When we are not designing kitchens, Sherwood help run an Inspiration workshop program for the interior design students at the Visual College of Arts and Design (VCAD). The aim of the program is to get the students out of the class room and interacting with some of the leading young designers in the industry. This year for Dinner by Design we wanted to go a step further and really help the students get the full experience of working on a real life design project. For this design challenge we paired 3 groups of students with 3 designers who each set a unique design brief for the students to follow.
This project offered a rare opportunity for the students to put their creative talents into action. At Sherwood we are big believers that practical hands on experiences are vital to help equip the students make a successful transition in to the industry. Having the opportunity to work alongside three industry leading professionals throughout the design process will no doubt be an experience that will stay with them for years to come.
This project offered a rare opportunity for the students to put their creative talents into action. For myself it was exciting and rewarding to see the Student’s ambition and dedication in making their visions come to life, and see the learning process happen in real time
Congrats to all the VCAD students and instructors who made this ambitious project such a success!
